1: Introduction to public economics

This course addresses the following competences:

  • Elucidate an understanding of the basic principles of public economics and their implications for the environment within which entities in the public sector operate;
  • Explain and appraise the economic environment in which entities in the public sector operate including microeconomic and macroeconomic issues, the prevalence of markets and the challenges of, and responses to, market failure.
